ABOUT US
OUR VISION
To Grow, Glow, and Go that others may know Jesus and his Love for Us.
OUR HISTORY
The West Antioch #2 Missionary Baptist Church begin construction in 1896 on three acres of land. The church was completed in 1897 under the leadership of the late Rev. W. T. Thomas. The officers at that time were Bro. Mangle Tate, Bro. Johnson Barnes, Bro. Frank Simmons, and Bro. Monroe West. The Lord continues to bless us 122 years and counting.
OUR MISSION
To be a beacon of light in a dark world, helping to draw all people into a saving relationship in Jesus Christ. Serving the Lord with the whole Man; exercising our gifts in the body of Christ. That we may glorify Jesus and magnify his Church. (Luke 19:10 Eph 4:11, 12)
I have been blessed to serve for 24 years as the Senior Pastor of the West Antioch #2 M.B. Church in Coldwater, Mississippi. With God’s leading we have made several accomplishments during my tenure. The church went to every Sunday worship, and several ministries were added. In 1995, the Lord allowed us to eliminate our debt and burned the mortgage. In 1998 we purchased a 15 passenger Van and in 1999 a 33-passenger bus. In 2000, we expanded the parking lot. The church remained debt free until we completed a building project of a family life center in 2002. With the help of the Lord we burned this mortgage in April of 2012. With the Lord leading we recently completed a remodeling project in March of 2017. Beyond West Antioch #2, presently I’ve been given the privilege to serve as the President of North Ms. Baptist Education State Congress as of 2012 and as one of the Instructors at the B.I. School of Religion and the local Baptist District Congress in Hernando, Mississippi. During my tenure as Senior pastor I was blessed to serve 12 years as the President of the Youth and Young Adult Convention, an auxiliary of the NMBEC were I also served as the Second Vice President and as the Director of Doctrine in the North Mississippi Ministerial Association. From 2004 to 2010 I did consultant work for the National Black Church Initiative based out of Washington, DC, where I trained Pastors and leaders on communicating with their youth concerning vital issues that our youth face. Given the love I have for the youth, I was awarded the consultant of the year in 2007. The Lord continues to enlarge our territory with many opportunities to share the gospel of Jesus Christ throughout these United States of America.
